Dezertsuz: December Block

Finished it today!

December - Susan Oh 2 Sew

Oops - almost the end of December and I haven't posted my December block - those two Quilt Police will be after me!!!   LOL

As I have mentioned before, this quilt will be for my eldest daughter and she had requested a few...well quite a few...design changes.   So the ginger bread man became a tree... I will add a star later.

I didn't stick to the "plan" when making this, so already had the bottom section of hearts and stars joined to the end pieces.
In fact I haven't stuck to the plan at all as I have the house block started as well.
Since we were going to visit eldest daughter & husband (who live in Townsville) for Christmas this year - and it is the first time she has been away from Brisbane for Christmas, I joined the blocks I did have and took it with me so that she could enjoy it.

There is a lot to go and I need to unpick those seams - I did use a long stitch - but I'm happy with how it's coming along.
Certainly a commitment to have it finished well before Christmas 2018.

I'm posting my November and December blocks without patchwork for now just to show my progress. Embroidery on January and the center stars is progressing, I should be caught up by the end of January...

December's block

This months block is the ginger bread man.....

December is a very busy month for many of us ......

Wishing you all a very wonderful Christmas season and thank you for participating in our stitchalong... Just think - next year we can all hang up our lovely new quiilts...

October?

Above is my October block, I think...
and below after it was sewn to the
other two....
Now see, I have my snowmen
butted up to each other and one is sideways?
I've taken all that out and am doing it correctly...
also had to piece my background after cutting it too small
I used a nativity because I believe..
and wanted to include the true reason for
Christmas.

And below is the Penny Rug I made for
my May project, right?
I made this as a gift
and it is already in its new home.

I have done the embroidery for
November and December
and plan to finish the applique
tomorrow.

November Finish

While sewing has taken a backseat in November, I did finish this block during the month but hadn't gotten around to sharing.
