Some more Stitching

My little house is complete.... now on to my little garden :)

My humble beginnings!

Finally I can show a couple of blocks I have done for the Some Kind Of Wonderful SAL. I was starting to think I would never get started but Chooky....I have! Here are 3 blocks and I have 3 others done but the wording just needs stitching.
It can only be full steam ahead from now on :)

On to the next ones...
hugs to all
Vicki
The Pickledish Patch

more progress.....

I have finished off the next two blocks.

Then added them to the rest and now it looks like this :o)

That makes me up to date for April.
Just as well because I think the sewing block alone will take me all month!

I enjoy watching every ones progress.

I have stitched a little on my SKoW, My Favourite Things blocks - here are a few more pics of the blocks. I am still way behind, although hope to really catch up in April. Easter is just around the corner, I have nothing planned, nothing at all, so hope to sleep in and sew.

As you can see there has been needleturning done, but some of the little bits are not finished.  A work in progress...

Keep stitching everyone, all are looking really great.

Amazing

So glad to be blogging on SKofW. Home is the place I relax and enjoy family, chores and stitching. Not always in that order.

Oh no photo wouldn`t turn. The flower block has words `a garden to look out on`. Hubby does the garden as he enjoys being out there. I help by bringing the plants home. Some have been brought, others given to us.

As you can see I`ve added my patchwork sections and at the top of my house block shows my top border so up to date with March blocks, so amazing with the week we`ve had.
Happy Stitching and thankyou for your lovely comments of my work.

SKOW Weekend

I am so far behind with SKOW......
I am thankfull that I do not live too close to Chooky because
if she got that whip out I wouldn't be able
to sit and stitch when she was finished with me....Sorry Chooky!
My biggest problem was deciding on the applique method....
As you can see I have now decided
and have managed to get some stitches in.....
Still slow going though so hopefully
I will get some done this weekend....
Jacky Mister has a Cricket Grand Final this morning
and Rep Basketball in Bathurst this afternoon and
tomorrow morning so it is perfect time for me
to get some sideline stitching done....
It is all in the organisation Girls!!!!!
Have a great weekend....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

March Greetings from Finland

This is all I have done in March...

... only the House block.
I know it's not much and I'm little bit sad about it,
but I haven't done much of anything for two weeks, except upgraded myself.
But don't worry, I'll be back in April with more blocks and stripes.

Happy Easter to you All!!!

Rows of Pretty Flowers...and more favourites.

I'm cutting it fine again this month...they sure are flying by lately!

Here are my efforts for March...

I went with "rows of pretty flowers"  because gardening is really not my thing :)

Home, on the other hand, is where I love to spend my time :)

Quilt strips all done...and almost time to start on April's blocks already!

Have a great month...and thanks for sharing your progress shots. There are some amazing quilts coming together!

On my way...

Hello!  :)

I'm moving slowly but at least I'm moving, right!  ;)  I finally got started on my way on my SKOW this past weekend.

For the center applique/stitchery blocks I'm using Kona white. I always use a light fusible batting on the back of these blocks to provide stability for the stitching and to hide the ends, etc. Here they are all cut, marked and ready to go . . .

So far I've got the appliques done on the first row of blocks. Here they are . . .

Now I'm ready to do the blanket-stitch. I'm using DMC perle cotton for the stitching. Here are the threads I choose to use . . .

I'm hoping to begin stitching these blocks tomorrow. This weekend I'm hoping to get the rest of the applique/stitching blocks ready and then I'll cut all the blocks and strips for the rest of the quilt. I wanted to wait and cut the rest until I see what fabric I'll use on the applique/stitching blocks to make sure the colors blend well and there's a cohesiveness to the quilt. Does that make sense? I hope so!   :)

I love all the progress I've been seeing here! You guys are doing an awesome job! Hope I get caught up real quick. Keep your fingers crossed for me!  :)

Until next time . . .

ROW THREE FINISHED

Tree block now finished and now a liittle while before I start row 4.

Row three done and I am very pleased with hoe the quilt is progressing.

March Done!

Here is my March section, finished....I have April done except for the strip......I changed "Gardening All Day" to "Growing Flowers" which is what I do because I enjoy the beauty....I do not enjoy gardening....I tried to make my house look like the one we live in with red brick and a red roof...We do not live in a 2 story but I didn't want to change that too much...
On the circle flowers, I learned that if I make a running stitch and kind of gather the ends, it helps to turn them under. I added a button for the center of the daisy.....In the next section, I plan to do a bear where the shoes are....

Showing Some Progress

Hi everyone!

Must admit I'm having the hardest time focusing on this project.  In the US, it is now in the dead of winter for us.  So, typically fickle Michigan weather, it's 70+ degrees and gorgeous outside!

I have been catching up.  I'm teaching myself needleturn applique and this is my first project.  Here are some more of my blocks:

Sanders Chocolates is a fixture in Detroit.  These kind of look like they were in the sun too long!  LOL!

Vernors is another favorite (the Original Ginger Soda!)
The spray at the top is all the bubbles that go up your nose.

Add some butter pecan ice cream....

And decorate the table with a daisy:

And these are my blocks so far!  I'm working on my suitcase and book right now.  Hopefully, I'll get to the March blocks before March is over!

You will note no sashing blocks yet.  I'm waiting until the end of the project and will cut up my remaining charm squares for that.

Happy Stitching!
Elisa

p.s. I love seeing all your posts.  Really brightens my day!

SOME MORE BLOCKS

Some more progress but slow at the moment as I have a sore hand. Hope its better soon as I am eager to get more blocks done.

I forgot to iron and trim the tree block before taking the photo but promise I will. I also decided to use a print instead of doing all those little flowers, lazy I know but I do have a sore hand.

I am not a gardener but I do like flowers so I changed the words to more suit me. I also added a little friend who is admiring the blooms, perhaps he thinks they are lunch.

I thought this was going to be a hard block to do, so I used bias binding to create the rainbow andadded some embroidered flowers and was quite pleased with the result.
Still working on the house block and with luck might finish it tonight.
Cheers for now Jude from judesstuff.

March block

This month's blocks for the Some Kind of Wonderful Stitch-a-long

this is very true

Home is definitely one of my favourite things

 this is not true
I like gardening... but not all day
I could supervise gardening all day but that word was too long to sew

The little pieces for the flowers were very challenging to sew

.... and here they are joined together with their little blocks.

Righto - Gotta Go.... a bit of gardening to do.... and just maybe some sewing - looks like rain
