June Blocks

Just scraping in by the skin of my teeth. Smile

mice, elfelfmice

They have been stitched for a while but I’ve been flat chat making birthday gifts & I’ve done hardly any blogging of late. My dd loved her lap quilt I gave her last Sunday & I still have a top secret project underway. My July blocks are already done but I’ll post them in July.

There has been an issue with these 2 blocks with the contrast, so many light things on the light background. They are a bit easier to see in ‘real life’ but I may restitch the mice in a darker grey.

If you’d like to see dd Emma’s lap quilt, I did blog about it, here:

Finished ...

I finished my quilt a few days ago and although I posted about it on my blog I forgot about posting it here :)

I'm quite happy with how it turned out, although I should have been more accurate when I trimmed the stitchery blocks, a couple were a bit large which in turn made it a bit difficult when it came to putting all the blocks together, as some of them were a smidgen larger than others.  I'm planning to make at least one of the projects from the Tis the Season book, I quite like the look of the Christmas Angels Hanging Pocket.

Already quilting

This time I have a picture without the cat, lol.
The top is finished and I already started to quilt it. Hopefully I can show you the finsihed quilt soon.

Have a nice day

Completed Blocks!!!

Somewhat late really .... but here are some of my first completed blocks!  I have finally got around to stitching the borders on to them!    Watch this space .... there will be more coming in the next little while!     I have been very inspired by all of the posts showing what amazing work you are all doing!  And also having seen a couple of finished Tis The Season quilts at the Craft Show spurred me along too!!

All my stitching has been worked in 2 strands of the variegated red DMC thread which I quite like using!

And I'm using a bit of a variety of fabrics!

Not sure about the checks - but not to worry!

Finally

I have had these blocks done since the beginning of the month, today I finally posted this message, hey, can't rush these things

Two more finished

Hi Chooky another two stitcheries to mark off
please.
Gee we are nearly there.
These stitcheries have been so much fun and what
a great way of tackling them, two each month you have it finished before you realise.
cheers shez

Put together...

My blocks are together now and waiting for the borders. I have decided what to do for the borders and now I just have to see if I have enough fabric left! The new fabric I have introduced as the sashing looks black in this photo, but it is actually navy blue in real life. I'm hoping to quilt it next week!

Midsummer Greetings from Finland

Hello Dear Stitching Friends all over the world!
Time flies and it's already midsummer...
... and before we even notice it's Chris....

Last week I finished my one and only TIS block for June.
My plan is to stitch only 12 blocks... so I have four left...
After Tis the Season -block I was ready to stitch the first row of the blocks together... ;)))

See you again in July... I wish you now...
HAPPY STITCHINGS!!!

- Satu -
PS. Chookyblue: I have now done 8 blocks;)

Final blocks 10, 11 and 12!!

I have done all the blocks now and here are blocks 10, 11 and 12. I am going to sew them together tomorrow and then it will be working out how to quilt it.
This has been such fun and thanks so much Chooky for organising the stitch along. I didnt think I would keep up but I did and I am really pleased with my blocks and will be hanging it up this Christmas.

Thanks heaps and hugs to all.....

Break!

I must admit, I've had a long break from stitching TTS and  from blogging. In May all my stitcheries were done. I put them in a box and kind of forgot (ignored) them. Yesterday I decided it was time to continue...

This is made from stash fabrics alone, and now I have to find a nice borderfabric - or two.
